Edison Man Charged In 2022 Shooting In Highland Park: Prosecutor
Authorities said the man and a Piscataway woman were charged in connection to the shooting that took place on Oct. 28, 2022.
EDISON, NJ — An Edison man and a Piscataway woman have now been charged in connection with a shooting death that took place in October 2022, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Highland Park Police Chief Richard Abrams said.
Gary Manley, 26, of Edison, was charged with first-degree attempted murder, first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Shanta Nolberto, 23 of Piscataway was charged with first-degree Conspiracy to commit murder.

The County Prosecutor did not release any motive for why the two allegedly shot the man, but it does appear that all three knew each other.
The shooting occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2022 in the area of South Eleventh Avenue. Highland Park police officers were called there for a 911 call that people heard gunshots.

On arrival, officers found a man who had been shot. The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries, and he survived being shot.
An investigation led by Det. Sgt. Jason Culver of the Highland Park Police Department and Det. Christopher VanEerde of the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office determined that Manley and Nolberto were the alleged shooters.
Nolberto was arrested without incident Dec. 1, 2022 in Highland Park and was charged, officials said.
Manley, was already in prison for another unrelated crime when he was arrested on May 18 and charged, police said.
