Edison Mayor Appoints New Chief Administrative Officer

Ray Alcantara, who previously worked at the NJ Governor's office, will now serve as Mayor Sam Joshi's Chief Administrative Officer.

EDISON, NJ — Mayor Sam Joshi on Tuesday announced another addition to his administrative team. Ray Alcantara, who previously worked at the NJ Governor’s office and the General Assembly, has been appointed Joshi's Chief Administrative Officer.

Alcantara also served as Director of Asian American Outreach during his time with the New Jersey Democratic Party. He managed the EPICS program at IEEE, one of the world’s largest technical professional organizations dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.

“I couldn’t be more excited to have Ray as a part of our team. I am genuinely grateful to have at my fingertips his many years of experience and vast knowledge," Joshi said in a statement. "He will surely be an invaluable resource as we begin the formidable task of moving Edison forward towards a brighter future for all.”

Coyle worked with the previous administration and helped Joshi and his team during the transition.

Also in Joshi's administration team is former council member Robert Diehl, who was appointed Chief of Staff. First elected in 2001, Diehl served as council president seven times and vice president three times.
