Edison Receives $3M For Expansion, Renovation Of Toth Health Center
The funding will help expand the Center by nearly 3,000 square feet to meet the health needs of the community.

EDISON, NJ – Officials on Monday announced that the Dr. William Toth Health Center in Edison received $3 million in funds and highlighted the upcoming renovation and expansion work.
Rep. Frank Pallone Jr., (NJ-6) was joined by Mayor Sam Joshi and Assemblyman Sterley Stanley during Monday’s press conference. Edison received the funds after President Joe Biden signed the omnibus package last month.

The funding will help expand the Center by nearly 3,000 square feet to meet the health needs of the community, especially seniors.
The new space will also include a meeting room for events and activities, reading room, full kitchen, and a common lounge. The township will also be able to expand its vaccinations, health screenings, and other essential services to older residents.

Pallone said that when Joshi approached him with the proposal for the Center, he was excited about the prospect. More: Edison Senior Center Gets $3M For Expansion Project
“The COVID-19 pandemic made it clear we need to do more to ensure everyone has access to health care. I fought for this funding so seniors in Middlesex County can get the care they deserve and need,” Pallone said.
“The Center’s expansion will allow it to increase the number of seniors it serves and keep them healthy.”
Joshi thanked Pallone for securing the funds and said he had spoken to the Congressman at length about the needs of the community, during his trip to Washington D.C. last year.
“This three-million-dollar federal appropriation will help us expand the footprint of our township Health and Senior Center,” Joshi said.
“The added space will greatly benefit our older residents, allowing them to spend time doing recreational activities and receive health care all in one place.”
Joshi said there was a huge demand for services among seniors in the community. Dating back to the 50s, the Center hasn’t been upgraded for decades.
“It is a gathering space. It is a community center, but it also provides senior citizens health services,” Joshi said.
“That’s what is really important about this. So this is going to be a community center tailored for senior citizens.”
