Edison: Small Property Owners To Receive Emergency Grant
Small property owners who lost rental income between April to July will receive an emergency grant from the state government.
EDISON, NJ – Edison Township announced on Wednesday that small property owners who were impacted by the pandemic will now receive an emergency grant from the state government. The Small Landlord Emergency Grant Program will provide funding to owners who lost rental income between April to July.
Aid will be given as long as landlords forgive back rents and late fees for tenants who were unable to make rent, due to loss of income during the pandemic.
Only rental units that serve low-income and moderate-income tenants will qualify. Owners with three to 10 rental units can apply, and properties must have updated fire inspection certificates, as of March 9,2020. Seasonal and vacation rentals are not eligible for the grant.

The grant is funded through the CARES Act and will be administered by the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency.
Applications opened on Wednesday, and property owner have until August 26 to apply.
