FEMA Representatives To Visit Metuchen On Wednesday
Residents can get information on claims and answers to questions regarding damage caused by Tropical Storm Ida.
METUCHEN, NJ - Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will visit Metuchen on Wednesday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Borough Hall.
Representatives will be at the second-floor conference room to help residents with claims and answer any questions regarding damage caused by Tropical Storm Ida, township officials said.
From Sept. 1 to 2, Metuchen suffered severe flooding as remanents of Hurricane Ida slammed the state. Many vehicles were completely covered by floodwaters and motorists had to abandon their cars to get themselves to safety, officials said.

The Office of Emergency Management opened the Senior Center for those who were rescued from their vehicles and those whose homes were uninhabitable. On Thursday morning, many homeowners were pumping water and sewage out of their basements, officials said.
