Give Your Input For Edison's Master Plan Updates Wednesday

EDISON, NJ – Wednesday is a big day for residents. Community members will have the opportunity to share their vision for Edison.
The township is hosting a final public workshop on the master plan on Wednesday, 6 p.m. at the Municipal Complex.
The update to the master plan is long overdue as the current master plan dates back to 2003, according to the township (read the current master plan here).

The master plan “provides a community-supported vision and guidance for a wide range of issues, laying the foundation for future decisions on development, capital spending, and general policy direction,” according to the master plan update website.
“Residents are encouraged to participate to ensure that the recommendations reflect current community priorities and needs.”

It is also the policy umbrella that will inform zoning and site plan ordinances, as well as land use, housing elements, utility services, community facilities, recreation, conservation, historic preservation and economic items.
In late 2022, the township launched an online ideas board for residents to sound off on their recommendations for the master plan. Among the concerns were intersection dangers, poorly timed traffic lights, crowded schools and cyclist/pedestrian safety. You can read the submissions here.
