Juneteenth, Downtown Funhouse: Weekend Events In Edison, Metuchen

Here are some exciting events happening in Edison, Metuchen this week:

EDISON, NJ — Put on your party hat as this Saturday, June 10, will be power packed in Edison and Metuchen.

Middlesex County will be hosting an event at Roosevelt Park in Edison, to celebrate everything the County has to offer. Residents can enjoy local food vendors, live music and performances, games and activities, touch-a-truck, roller skating, arts and crafts, historical interpreters, and more. There will also be learning programs and services. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Arts Institute of Middlesex County will also be showcasing arts and crafts, like henna art and face painting, with local arts organizations.

The Township will host a Juneteenth celebration in partnership with the NAACP Metuchen Edison Area Branch. The Juneteenth Freedom Day Festival will be held from 12 p.m. to 6 pm at Papaiananni Park, 100 Municipal Boulevard.

There will be family-friendly activities, a classic car and auto show, live performances, fireworks, food trucks and more.

Earlier this year Metuchen won the 2023 Great American Main Street Award. And to celebrate the win, this Saturday the borough will be hosting the Downtown Funhouse. More: 'Truly Awe Inspiring:' Metuchen Named Great American Main Street 2023

There will be axe throwing, Coney Island performers, bounce house, caricature artists, K-Pop dance team, face painting and more.

The event will be held downtown from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
