K-9 Caj And Apollo Join Edison Police Department

K-9 officers Caj and Apollo are rescues who are trained in explosive detection and tracking.

EDISON, NJ — K-9 Caj and K-9 Apollo were the newest members to join the Edison Police Department, Chief Thomas Bryan announced.

Officers Avsar Patel and Steve Martin will be their handlers. Caj and Apollo are rescues who came to K-9 protectors from the Davis Dog Farm.

They are both Belgian Malinois, trained in explosive detection and tracking.

Chief Bryan thanked Mayor Sam Joshi for his support in re-establishing the K-9 Unit.

“This Unit has also been established with asset forfeiture funds with no cost to the township and taxpayers,” the police department said.

Joshi thanked Bryan for “diligently bringing back this unit” and Middlesex County Sheriff Mildred Scott and the County team of K-9 handlers for training support.

The K-9 Protectors donated K-9 Officers Caj and Apollo to the police department at no cost.

The Edison Police K-9 shirt sale for Officer Caj and Officer Apollo is currently live and will run for two weeks.

This fundraiser commemorates the success of Caj and Apollo. It also aims to brings attention to the rescue they came from, The Davis Dog Farm.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards the cost of other rescue dogs care, veterinary bills, and equipment needed for training.
