Large Digital Billboard Hearing To Continue Feb. 21 In Edison

The application has been carried over from Jan. 17 according to the Zoning Board agenda.

EDISON, NJ – The township’s Zoning Board will resume hearing for the proposed large double-sided digital billboard on Old Post Road on Feb. 21. The application has been carried over from Jan. 17, according to the Zoning Board agenda.

American Outdoor Advertising has proposed a 100-foot digital billboard, with two sides on 740 Old Post Road. This location is in the industrial zone and the back of the billboard will be facing local homes.

During the Nov. 22 meeting, the Zoning Board had asked American Outdoor Advertising to come back with plans showing where the billboard will be placed on the 6.5-acre land from the nearest property of the nearest residences.

At the meeting, the applicant’s attorney, Jeffrey Lehrer, told the board that the billboard will be buffered from the resident’s views and the impact won’t be “substantial.”

The applicant is seeking a height variance because the maximum permitted billboard height is 15 feet, but they’ve proposed 100 feet.
