Metuchen Planning Board Approves Subdivision Of Manasquan Bank Drive-Through
The Borough plans to transform the drive-through property into a downtown pocket park.
METUCHEN, NJ – The Borough’s Planning Board recently approved the subdivision of the former Manasquan Bank drive-through.
Metuchen, with consent from the property owners, had applied for minor subdivisions, variances and certain waivers for the property located on Main Street.
After this move, Manasquan Bank will gift this property to Metuchen after 45 days to use as a pocket park.

“To help us brainstorm in the short-term, we have assembled a temporary eight-member Pocket Park Advisory Committee made up of a group of creative residents with diverse backgrounds who will undoubtedly bring a unique perspective to placemaking in this idea phase.”
Members of the advisory committee include Dawn Mackey of the Metuchen Downtown Alliance; Council Member Joel Branch; local artist Shea Zephir and Iris Delgado of the Zoning Board.
The downtown pocket park will be constructed in two phases, Mayor Jonathan M Busch had said. Borough officials expect to design a transitional/pop-up space for the summer.
Over the next few months, Borough officials will provide more information on when the park will open and other additional details.
