Metuchen’s Jersey Bearcats Help Feed the Homeless
The local AAL team partnered with Anderson's Meet the Need to feed the homeless in surrounding communities

EDISON-METUCHEN, NJ — Metuchen-based American Arena League team, Jersey Bearcats recently partnered with a local organization to help feed the homeless in Ashbury Park and Newark.
The team partnered with Anderson’s Meet the Need, a local non-profit that helps provide for the homeless.
The Jersey Bearcats spent a morning handing out breakfast and snacks to the homeless at Trinity Church in Ashbury Park. They then went to Newark, NJ at the Penn Station Transportation Center to distribute lunches.

Co-owner of the Jersey Bearcats, Jermaine Sanders, said Anderson’s Meet the Need was a “blessing” to the community and that the team was glad to be partnering with them.
“When we looked at community partnerships, we wanted to partner with a like-minded organization so that we could make the most impact in our community,” he said.

After spending the day distributing lunches, the team went on to play the Major Indoor Football League championship game that afternoon.
