No School Tuesday In Edison As Blizzard Cleanup Continues

The district cited inclement weather and student safety as the blizzard left roads dangerous.

EDISON, NJ — Edison Township Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, as the township continues to dig out from a historic blizzard that prompted Mayor Sam Joshi to call it one of Edison's worst storms since 1996.

All before- and after-school programs and athletic activities are also canceled. The district said the makeup day for the closure has yet to be determined.

The blizzard dropped close to 12 inches on parts of Edison, downed trees, knocked out power for hundreds of residents and left DPW crews working 16-hour shifts with officials warning cleanup could stretch for days.
