Tree Seedling Giveaway In Edison To Celebrate Arbor Day
New Jersey is making free seedlings available throughout the state to help tree lines recover after losses from Superstorm Sandy.
EDISON, NJ — The Township will be celebrating Earth Day Lake Papaianni on April 24. During the celebration, free seedlings will be available in the area.
Every year, the state makes free seedlings available throughout New Jersey in an effort to help New Jersey's tree line recover after significant losses from Superstorm Sandy.
The seedling giveaways occur around Arbor Day, which is on April 29 this year.

A seedling giveaway will take place 10 a.m. at Lake Papaianni. Click here for all seedling-pickup locations and instructions on planting them.
The Arbor Day Foundation has been working to bring back New Jersey's tree line since the 2012 superstorm. The New Jersey Tree Recovery campaign partners the foundation with the New Jersey Forest Service. The partnership has distributed over 300,000 trees, but many more are still needed, according to the Arbor Day Foundation.
