Woodmont Metro Ends 2017 on a High Note

The final two weeks of 2017 included a number of major milestones for Woodmont Metro, an award-winning, transit-oriented apartment community

The final two weeks of 2017 included a number of major milestones for Woodmont Properties’ award-winning, transit-oriented mixed-use apartment community at the Metuchen Train Station known as Woodmont Metro. First, to date, Woodmont has leased 85 percent of its apartments, with over 50 percent preleasing in the recently completed East building. Nearly 100 new residents are preparing to move in to the second of two magnificent buildings during the first few weeks of the new year. Woodmont expects full occupancy early this spring.

“Leasing has been strong at Woodmont Metro since we opened our doors,” stated Woodmont’s President Lewis Zlotnick. “Our current residents very much appreciate living in a walkable town with a New Jersey Transit train line direct to New York City,” he added.

Local residents were also able to celebrate the completion of Metuchen’s Town Plaza, the center piece and focal point of Woodmont Metro, due to the hard work and diligence of Woodmont Properties’ construction team. As the finishing touches were being applied to the Plaza, local residents began arriving for Metuchen’s New Year’s Eve celebration on site. The evening’s festivities featured fire dancers, ice sculpting and a DJ dance party.

“Woodmont’s professionalism and commitment working under challenging weather conditions on a tight deadline was greatly appreciated by the Borough. This fantastic public plaza surrounded by retail shops is a showplace that will generate great civic pride and participation for years to come,” praised Borough Administrator and former Metuchen Borough Council President Jay Muldoon.

“Working with Metuchen has been a great honor and privilege, since the inception of this bellwether redevelopment of a decades old parking lot. This town truly understands the meaning of the often-overused phrase, ‘public/private partnership,’” stated Woodmont’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel Steve Santola, who spearheaded the project on the company’s behalf. Santola added, “from the very start, Metuchen’s local leaders recognized that our success was their success, a key component that helped make this beautiful addition to the community both fun and exciting from start to finish.”
