4-Year-Old Calls 911 After Drunk Englewood Cliffs Dad Passes Out In Car: Police

Jamil Graham allegedly drank half a bottle of vodka, police said.

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — A borough man was charged with child endangerment after he passed out drunk with his 4-year-old in their car.

Cliffside Park police received a 911 call from the child who said his father was "passed out" in the vehicle, said Detective Sgt. Michael Giampietro.

Police found the vehicle at Palisade and Lafayette avenues and found a half-drunk bottle of vodka inside, the sergeant said.

The driver, Jamil Graham, had a blood alcohol concentration of .22, failed several field sobriety tests, and was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and was issued several motor vehicle summonses, police said.

Graham's bail was sent at $50,000 and he was transported to the Bergen County Jail, Giampietro said.

The child was not harmed. He was taken into custody and given to a family member. The state Department of Child Protection and Permanency was notified.
