5 Ways to Get your Skin Ready For Spring
Follow these easy steps to a better you for Spring 2015

The snow might have been pelting down on us this morning, but Spring truly is right around the corner. As a beauty expert, I am always asked for ways to improve skin appearance and products that can be used to embrace our youthful appearance.
Here are top 5 suggestions to turn back the clock and prep your skin for a fabulous Spring!
- Wash and moisturize your face every night. This might sounds like a simple thing to do, but when I polled 50 women, 39 of them admitted to going to bed with a face full of makeup. Shame! My fave drugstore brand that has served me well since high school is Cetaphil (locally found at stores like CVS on Palisade Avenue and Walgreens on Hudson Avenue in Englewood). When you just can’t make it to the bathroom, keep Boots Expert Sensitive Cleansing & Toning Wipes by your bedside to remove makeup. Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate is my moisturizing must-have (Kiehl’s on Route 17, Paramus).
- Sleep, sleep, sleep. Did you know that sleeping at least 8 hours a night can not only keep you sprite during the day, but can help your body recharge and give you a youthful appearance by night? So turn off your iPhone, shut the TV and unwind into slumber. Need a new mattress to get your beauty rest ON? Check out the President’s Sale that is still going on at Sleepy’s in Bergenfield.
- Drink your H20. Water (not SODA) when consumed in a minimum quantity of 8 glasses a day can help boost collagen production and keep skin on your whole body (not just your face) hydrated and more fresh in appearance. You can turn on your faucet for FREE or purchase a case 48 bottles at Costco in Hackensack for under $10!
- Injectables. There is no shame in seeking the help of a professional dermatologist or plastic surgeon to rejuvenate your look for spring. Injectables like BOTOX® and JUVÉDERM® have been long time favorites for a quick and painless way to improve upon small imperfections like marionette lines, crow’s feet and the illusive “11” in the center stage of your brows. Do your research before you go and find an accredited doctor that is the right fit for you. My personal favorite and well worth the 20 minute car ride into Manhattan, Gotham Plastic Surgery’s Dr. Phillip Miller.
- Put out the smoke. Smoking cigarettes and cigars all assist in creating not only an ashy appearance, but create pre-mature lines and wrinkles. Kick this habit for not only a healthier inside, but a more radiant outward appearance. Click HERE for local Smoking Cessation Programs.
