Aspiring Model From NJ Shot In Head, Dies: Cops

An aspiring model from New Jersey was found dead this past week after she was shot in the head, according to police. Law enforcement officials are looking for the killer.

Danielle Chaney, 20, of Englewood was found lying on her bed by her boyfriend inside her apartment in Houston, according to police.

The boyfriend told police he brought Chaney outside to render aid before paramedics arrived and transported her to an area hospital. She was found at 5:10 p.m. on Feb. 2. police said.

She was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said. Houston police were awaiting autopsy results. No charges have been filed and the investigation is continuing.

Her family has made a plea to the media for help.

"If you could think back to that moment during the day when it took place, please come forward and just say something. We have no closure unless we know what happened," her mom, Betty Harris, told ABC.

"I'm not here to judge anybody. I'm not here to judge anybody. All I'm saying is that my baby is dead," she said. "We deserve to have that closure. Just do the right thing. That's all we ask. Just do the right thing."

Chaney, who was born in Teaneck, recently graduated from high school and was working as an aspiring model, according to Daily Voice.
