CLOSTER DEMOCRATS TO HOST JERSEY CITY MAYOR STEVE FULOP

CLOSTER: The Closter Democratic Club is pleased to present the Honorable Steven Fulop, Mayor of Jersey City, at our campaign kick-off. The Club will meet on Monday, June 8 at 7:00 PM at Rudy’s Ristorante, 71 Ver Valen Street, Closter. The Club is asking for a minimum contribution of $50.00 per person which includes a light dinner with a cash bar.

The son of immigrants, Mayor Fulop grew up in Edison, NJ. Like many kids of small business owners, he worked alongside his father at the family’s Newark delicatessen. His mother - the daughter of Holocaust survivors - worked at an immigration services office, helping others gain a piece of the American Dream.

The Closter Democratic Club invites everyone to come hear Mayor Fulop’s story and meet Dolores Witko, Brian Stabile, and Jannie Chung, the Democratic candidates for Closter Council. Witko, a 31-year Closter resident, previously served on the Closter Board of Education. Stabile, a geologist, grew up in Closter and returned after college to raise his family. Chung, an attorney, is a life long Closter resident, and specializes in local business advisement.

The Democrats are working to restore the two-party system in Closter by bringing fresh ideas to the table. “A healthy democracy needs more than one party” said John Kashwick, the former Councilman who is now the municipal chair of the Closter Democratic Committee. “The Committee is now back with new, energetic and committed people set on fighting for Democratic ideals” said Joel Zelnik.
