Elisabeth Morrow School Wins New York City Regional Latin Certamen

Elisabeth Morrow School Englewood, NJ

The Elisabeth Morrow Latin team won first place at the New York City Regional Latin Certamen for Level I on April 28, 2017. The tournament was hosted by Townsend Harris High School on the Queens College Campus in Flushing, NY. The scholars also competed against the Brooklyn Latin School, Stuyvesant High School and other New York area magnet schools, emerging with the highest overall score after three initial rounds and winning the final match against Hunter High School.

Certamen is a quiz bowl style tournament requiring students to have broad-based knowledge of Latin, Greco-Roman mythology, literature, civilization and history.
