Englewood BOE Enters Into Shared Services Agreement With County

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — The Board of Education will be able to directly request snow removal and public safety equipment from the county thanks to a new shared-service agreement with the county.

Previously, municipalities were required to have their town council pass a resolution asking to borrow the equipment from the county. The new contract model streamlines the process by allowing the municipality to go directly to the county and get the equipment on the ground faster.

The agreement follows a separate agreement that Bergen County authorized with the City of Englewood in August, which allows the city to borrow equipment from the county in a similar fashion.

“This is a great opportunity to work with local leaders in Englewood on behalf of our residents,” said County Executive James J. Tedesco. “By streamlining the process of lending our available equipment to these communities, we are helping Englewood deliver more efficient, less expensive service to the taxpayers."
