Englewood Man Charged With Child Abuse

Louis Puskas, 37, was charged after state officials saw a child with a "significant" bruise on her forehead above the eye.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — A city man was charged with child abuse Saturday following an investigation by county and local authorities.

Louis Puskas, 36, was arrested after the Division of Child Protection and Permanency was alerted that a child was seen with "a significant bruise" on their forehead above the eye, said acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo.

Division personnel went to the child's home and alerted local law enforcement officials, Calo said.

Puskas was arrested Saturday and charged with fourth-degree child abuse, Calo said. He is scheduled to appear in Central Judicial Processing Court May 9.
