Englewood Man Engaged In Sexual Activity With Girls, 14 And 12, Since 2010: Prosecutor

Alfredo Rosales, 51, allegedly had the girls provided to him by a Philadelphia woman. They were arrested Saturday, authorities said.

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. — A city man was arrested Saturday on several sexual assault charges for allegedly engaging in sexual activity with two young girls, 14 and 12, since 2010, said Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal.

Authorities arrested Alfredo Rosales, 51, after he allegedly engaged in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl, Grewal said. The arrest occurred after the Englewood Police Department was told Rosales, a married auto technician, was allegedly engaging in the sexual activity, the prosecutor said.

The Special Victims Unit from Grewal's office and the police investigated and discovered that Rosales was engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl and had sexual activity with her and a 12-year-old girl since 2010, Grewal said.

The investigation revealed that Esperanza Mani-Cortez, 44, of Philadelphia, made the girls available to Rosales who paid her in return, the prosecutor said.

Rosales and Mani-Cortez were each charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault, two counts of sexual assault by sexual contact, aggravated criminal sexual contact, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, Grewal said.

Both are to have no contact with the victims and must surrender their passports as conditions of their bails if released. They were both remanded to the Bergen County Jail.

They are scheduled to appear in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
