Englewood Police Investigate Early-Morning Shooting

Police found evidence of gunfire at the Elks Ideal Lodge on Bennett Road just after midnight Saturday.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at the Elks Ideal Lodge early Saturday morning.

Police responded to the lodge, at 17 Bennett Road, at 12:08 a.m. on a report of gunshots being fired, said Detective Capt. Timothy Torell.

Police found ballistic evidence that showed a firearm was discharged, but no victims were found, Torell said.

A minor motor vehicle crash occurred when someone tried leaving the parking lot after hearing a gunshot, Torell said.

Police are investigating and trying to recover area surveillance video footage. Police are looking for any witnesses who may have seen what had happened, Torell said.
