Englewood Schools On Lockdown After 'Shooting Incident'

Englewood police requested the lockdown following a 'shooting incident,' the superintendent said.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — City schools were placed on lockdown Tuesday morning following a "shooting incident" in town, Superintendent Robert Kravitz said.

Kravitz said the Englewood Police Department recommended the lockdown. All district schools were placed on lockdown at 8:24 a.m.; the lockdown was lifted at 9:10 a.m.

No students were involved in the incident, Kravitz said. The lockdown was enacted "for precautionary reasons," he said.
