Local Cumbia Band To Perform At Englewood Library: What To Know

The free concert later this month will feature the folk music of Colombia.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ —Englewood residents can catch a free live performance by the Viva Vallenato Cumbia Band at the Englewood Public Library later this month.

The concert is scheduled for Sunday, June 28, at 7 p.m. outside on the library's front plaza.

“The Viva Vallenato Cumbia Band performs the electrifying folk music of Colombia, South America,” according to the event announcement. “The rhythms will make you dance.”

These songs contain the cultural memory of a people with roots in Africa, Native America and Europe.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket for the performance. If it rains, the concert will move indoors to the library's main floor.

The event is free and open to the public. The Friends of the Englewood Library is sponsoring the concert.
