Local Dentist Hosts November Food Drive
East Madison Dental in Tenafly is accepting non-perishable food items in November to donate to the Center for Food Action

Tenafly NJ- East Madison Dental has teamed up with Center for Food Action this November to donate non-perishable food items to New Jersey families living in poverty. Throughout the year, the Center for Food Action provides food, housing, utility and heating assistance and offers counseling and advocacy services to low-income individuals and families. On average, CFA gives out more than 4,700 seven-day food packages monthly and provides holiday food packages to more than 3,300 households.
East Madison Dental hosts community give back programs throughout the year. "We just completed our Halloween Candy Give Back where we sent candy to US troops overseas. We try to do something in the community every couple of months because it's important to us to give back," says Office Manager Daniel
Tise.
There is also a strong connection between nutrition and dental health. Dr. Jain of East Madison Dental explains, “Malnutrition and the types of food we eat affect the health of our gums and teeth. Foods that are high in carbohydrates and sugar, for example, lead to more dental and health problems. With this drive, we’re trying to prevent that and provide healthy foods for those in need.”
