New Englewood Superintendent Expected To Be Appointed Thursday
Robert Kravitz has been the Englewood Cliffs superintendent since 2012.

The Englewood Board of Education will vote on Robert Kravitz’s appointment as the new superintendent of the Englewood Public School District Thursday.
“We are very happy to be able to bring someone to our district of Mr. Kravitz’s caliber,” said Howard Haughton, board president. “Mr. Kravitz, with his track record and experience both in educational leadership and businesses, will bring fresh ideas and a long-term commitment to strengthening our schools.”
Kravitz is a an Englewood resident. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Rutgers University, a master’s in educational leadership, and a master’s of business administration from St. Peter’s University.

Kravitz founded a dessert company that eventually earned more than $1 million in revenue. He taught business and entrepreneurship for 10 years before becoming a school administrator. He was principal of Fort Lee’s School 3 when the school was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence from the U.S. Department of Education.
“My educational philosophy was shaped by my experiences in business,” said Kravitz. “With the Triangle Theory, parents, teachers and administrators play a coordinated role in making decisions each day that ensure a student is learning.”
