Northern New Jersey Community Foundation Awards Grant for Englewood Idol
The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation awarded a grant to the Dr. John Grieco Scholarship Fund to support Englewood Idol.

The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation (NNJCF) has awarded a grant of $1,500 to the Dr. John Grieco Scholarship Fund at the Academies@Englewood. The grant will support arts and music enrichment scholarships for ten contestants participating in Englewood Idol to attend area performing arts schools.
The annual Englewood Idol will be held at the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) in Englewood, N.J. on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at 7 p.m. The talent competition draws from Englewood students attending high school.
NNJCF, a nonprofit organization based in Englewood, New Jersey, has supported the talent competition since its inception in 2005. “We are pleased to award this grant, which aligns with the mission of the NNJCF’s ArtsBergen initiative to use creative placemaking -- the practice of integrating arts and culture into a neighborhood, town or region -- to bridge diversity, build community and livability, and boost the local economy,” said Michael Shannon, President, NNJCF.
