Paramus Couple Honored for Youth Service at Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies (BCHSJS) Annual Gala Dinner

David Goodman and Dr. Hope Schlossberg receive BCHSJS award for furthering Jewish continuity among local teens

BERGEN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL OF JEWISH STUDIES HONORS PARAMUS COUPLE FOR SUPPORTING LOCAL JEWISH YOUTH

The Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies (BCHSJS), Bergen County’s only weekly Hebrew High School, will hold its Annual Gala Dinner on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. This year’s gala, the school’s largest fundraiser, will honor David Goodman and Dr. Hope Schlossberg with BCHSJS’ L'Dor V'Dor Award, created to recognize individuals who further Jewish continuity by supporting programs for Jewish teens.

David is a CPA and Managing Director of Lawrence B. Goodman & Company in Fair Lawn. He helps Jewish educational institutions (day schools and yeshivot) and other non-profits to create efficiencies through accounting and financial reporting. He is the past president of Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey (JFNNJ), past president of Jewish Family Service of North Jersey and the past chair of the JFNNJ Endowment Committee. He currently serves on the Board of the Federation and Jewish Family and Children’s Services of North Jersey. Among other awards, he is the recipient of the Marge Bornstein Award for Outstanding Volunteerism.

Hope is an obstetrician-gynecologist with Comprehensive Women’s Care in Englewood and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Hope has long supported educational and social programs within the Northern New Jersey Jewish community. She volunteers for a wide variety of activities at Solomon Schechter in New Milford. Hope also participates on the Chesed Committee at the JCC of Paramus, where the Schlossberg/Goodman family are members.
