Update: Water Service Restored, Boil Water Advisory Remains In Effect

Water service interrupted following morning crane accident.

Water service has been restored to almost all customers affected by this morning’s crane accident in Cliffside Park, United Water announced.

Almost all of United Water’s customers in Englewood Cliffs were without water pressure after a 24-inch water main break broke following a two-block long crane falling on the water main this morning.

The boil water advisory remains in effect.

Residents should boil their water for at least one minute for drinking, cooking, baking, making ice cubes, taking medication, brushing teeth, washing food, mixing baby formula or food, mixing juices or feeding pets. Water does not have to be boiled for showering or washing dishes or clothes.
