Vehicle Wanted In Englewood Hit-And-Run: Prosecutor

Breaking: A boy was hit on Knickerbocker Road late Monday night, authorities said.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Authorities are looking for an Audi they said hit and critically injured a boy on Knickerbocker Road late Monday night and left the scene.

Englewood police officers received a call at 10:50 p.m. of a boy lying in the road with serious injuries. He was treated at the scene and taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition, said acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo.

The vehicle fled the scene heading north on Knickerbocker Road towards Tenafly, the prosecutor said.

Evidence indicated that the vehicle that hit the boy is an early-model Audi, likely a 2000 to 2002 Audi A4, 2000 to 2004 Audi A6, or 2001 to 2005 Audi Allroad, Calo said. The vehicle would have "obvious front-end damage," including a broken grille, and possible damage to the bumper, hood, and windshield.

Anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run is asked to call the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit at 201-226-5595 or the Englewood Police Department at 201-568-2700.
