WATCH: Man Robs Englewood 7-Eleven At Gunpoint: Police

The man jumped over the counter, grabbed a clerk and forced him to open the cash register, police said.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Police are looking for a man they say robbed the 7-Eleven store on Tenafly Road Tuesday afternoon.

Video provided by police shows a man wearing dark clothes and a hooded sweatshirt walking to the strip mall where the 7-Eleven is.

The man circled the store for a few minutes and burst through door armed with what appears to be a handgun, said Detective Capt. Timothy Torell.

The man jumped over the counter, grabbed one of the clerks and forced him to open the cash register, Torell said.

The man escaped with several hundred dollars. He wore a scarf or something that covered the lower part of his face and then ran from the store in the same direction he came from, Torell said.

Englewood detectives and county law enforcement personnel arrived and collected evidence from the scene, which is being analyzed.

The local Crimestoppers group is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone who can provide information that significantly assists with the investigation.
