SADDLE BROOK, NJ — A bomb threat briefly closed a Walmart store in Saddle Brook on Friday night, officials said.
Just before 9:30 p.m., according to a spokesperson for the Bergen County Sheriff's Office, Saddle Brook Police asked for assistance with a call saying there were pipe bombs in the Walmart on Route 46. The store was evacuated.
The Sheriff's Office brought the Bomb Squad as well as two explosive K-9s, said spokesman James Edmonds, a spokesperson for County Sheriff Anthony Cureton.
The dogs finished their search by 10:18 p.m. and found no explosives, Edmonds said. The scene was turned over to Saddle Brook Police Department to continue their investigation.
Edmonds said no further information is available.
The Saddle Brook police did not respond to a request for more details by press time, but this story will be updated if more information is received.
