BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A family whose 9-year-old child was allegedly sexually abused in an after care program will receive a $1.6 million settlement, according to published reports.
The child was errored in an Englewood Recreation aftercare program in September 2023 when she was sexually assaulted by a worker, says a story on NJ.com. The family said the program should have performed a background check.
A state judge approved the settlement, but the worker hasn't been fit to stand trial on the charges, say reports on NJ.com and transparencyNJ. Read more here.
