Bear Tranquilized After Spooking Fair Lawn Residents: Police
'Teddy' was going through borough backyards for the past few days, police said.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — A bear that turned up around borough homes was tranquilized and relocated to state land, police said.
Fair Lawn police officers nicknamed the 131-pound bear "Teddy." Fair Lawn PBA Local 67 posted on its Facebook page that "Teddy" was going through backyards in the past few days.
Police worked together with the state Division of Fish and Wildlife, the borough Department of Public Works and the fire department to capture the bear and moved him to state land.
