Fair Lawn High School Welcomes Veterans
Veterans share experiences with Fair Lawn High Students
On November 14, 2012 the Fair Lawn High School played host to some eight military veterans from Fair Lawn. This was an opportunity for students to sit down and share some history and some refreshments with our veterans. Various branches of the military were represented and all shared their experiences with this young and enthusiastic crowd. Alan Krutchkoff of Adopt-A-Soldier Platoon was on hand to speak to the youngsters.
The program is the idea of educator Albert Alvarez, a social studies teacher at the high school. There were also similar events scheduled at Memorial and Thomas Jefferson Middle Schools.
Adopt-A-Soldier Platoon is a recognized 501c3 organization. Adopt A Soldier sends packages to the troops overseas "Improving the Morale of Our Troops" and can be contacted at www.adoptasoldierplatoon.org
