What Would it Take to Change the World?

Through this blog we look forward to sharing Rotary's mission and experiences locally and globally as we work to improve the world community.

Rotary's 1.2 million global members believe it starts with a commitment to "Service Above Self”.  In more than 34,000 clubs worldwide, you'll find members volunteering in communities at home and abroad to support education and job training, provide clean water, combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, and eradicate polio.

There's something that all Rotary club members have in common: We take action. As community volunteers, we reach out to neighbors in need. We build, support, and organize. We save lives. We work locally and globally.

Around the corner and across the globe, the 1.2 million men and women of Rotary:

Rotary club members are men and women of all ages and professional backgrounds who use their talents, skills, and energy to improve the lives of people right here in Fair Lawn and around the world.

Membership in a Rotary club brings many opportunities, including friendship, professional development, and humanitarian service within your community and
internationally. While each club is unique, you’ll find all Rotary clubs have
these qualities in common:

  • Rotary is a grassroots organization that carries out meaningful service work through its clubs
  • Club member hold (or are retired from) professional positions and have been actively involved in community affairs
  • Each Rotary club makes its own membership decisions
  • Rotary clubs meet weekly
  • With the exception of Rotary e-clubs, which are by definition global, members typically live or work in or near the community where the club is
    located
  • Members are welcome to visit any Rotary club meeting, anywhere in the world

Through this blog we look forward to sharing Rotary’s mission and experiences locally and globally as we work to improve the world community.  Please do not hesitate to contact The Rotary Club of Fair Lawn with any questions or comments either through this site or at fairlawnrotarians@gmail.com.  You can also visit us on the web at www.clubrunner.ca/fairlawn.
