Non-profit agencies need volunteers and there are many different opportunities available– virtual or in person. You choose what works for you, from one-time events to regularly scheduled time.
The Bergen Volunteers Redefining Retirement Program encourages retirees and others to experience the power of making a difference in someone’s life by working with non-profits helping others across Bergen County.

During the session, participants will hear about how to become a volunteer, the Bergen Volunteers Redefining Retirement Program, and the types of volunteer needs and opportunities.

We are excited to announce a new location for JC’s upcoming events at Century Field in Garfield, NJ. Hosted by the Garfield Events Committee, this flea market will take place once per month, weather permitting.
The next date here will be Saturday, Aug. 15, and then it will be held on the 3rd Saturday of each month at the same location. Occasionally, the market will have to be held on one of the other fields at the same park. We will make sure you know about it when it happens.
As always, you can expect approximately 75 vendors offering a wide variety of merchandise, including new items, crafts, collectibles, and garage sale finds.
If you are a Garfield resident interested in hosting a garage sale at one of these markets, please email us for more details. Local residents who are not JC’s regular vendors will qualify for a reduced price of $30 (limited to 3 times). After the 3rd time, your fee is the regular $60 price.

This Market is held on the Elmwood Park Recreation field across from Saint Leo's Church on Market Street. There will be many vendors selling an array of merchandise from new to gently used 2nd hand, collectibles and so much more. With the cost of everything rising the flea market is a good option to find reasonably priced items. Flea markets are traditionally more affordable for everyday household items, clothing, personal products, essentials, kids' toys, and more. An Exciting Shopping Event awaits you at the Craft Show &amp; Antique &amp; Gift Corner, on Sunday, August 23, from 10 to 5 in beautiful Veterans Park, located on Broadway in Westwood. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit 125 exhibitors featuring arts and crafts, as well as an antique and gift corner. The art and craft section will showcase booths presenting pottery, floral arrangements, fall home decor, hand-crafted jewelry, apparel, fiber goods, prints, woodworking items, stained glass, garden items, resin and train station prints, artwork, photography, chain saw animals, as well as specialized items for pets and children, crochet animals, mixed media creations, soft sculpture and a variety of other artisan goods. 
At the antique corner treasures can be found at the booths filled with antique &amp; costume jewelry, pottery, prints, linens, silver, porcelain, ephemera, bric a brac, vintage toys, and more. For antique or collectible appraisals, consult appraiser Jon Felz, a respected expert in the field. The cost Is $5.00 an item. The gift corner features Italian woman’s clothing, jewelry, home décor, children’s items, scarves, handbags, soaps, apparel and so much more. 
For the foodie’s, festival foods, Italian ice, homemade pretzels, pickles &amp; desserts will be available. You do not want to miss this fun shopping event at this picturesque park. Bergen County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is the only nonprofit in the county that recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers to advocate for children in the foster care system. These Advocates visit regularly, monitor well-being, and advocate in court for children’s medical, educational, and emotional needs—helping them heal and thrive.
