Councilwoman Takes Second in Father's Day 5K Race

Fair Lawn runners fared well in last Sunday's Rebuilding Together Father's Day 5K held in Saddle River Park.

Resident Anthony Patuzzo, 28, finished second overall with an impressive time of 16:45.60 and , an avid triathlete, sped through the course to finish second among female competitors (18th overall) with a time of 20:28.34.

Patuzzo and Swain were among the over 300 runners and walkers who competed in the second annual Rebuilding Together Father's Day 5K, sponsored in part by , along with more than a dozen other organizations and corporations.

Rebuilding Together, a national non-profit that works to preserve affordable homeownership, has over 200 affiliates across the nation, including in Bergen County.

Since 1998, the organization has worked in over 45 towns throughout the county and finished more than 200 projects that have allowed seniors, veterans, families and disabled individuals to remain in their homes.

In April, , an Oak Street resident who suffered serious mold and water damage in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene. 

Other top Father's Day 5K finishers from Fair Lawn included 15-year-old Samuel Flanzman (12th overall) and Neal Koransky (26th overall), who, along with Swain, both held a 6-minute mile pace throughout the race. Patuzzo, who held a 5:23 pace, was one of three race participants whose pace clocked in under six minutes.
