10th Annual Joker's Child Free Comic Book Day

Comic book shops around the world will be celebrating the comic book art form on Saturday, May 7th. But the most fun will be at “The Last Comic Book Store On Earth” ™, The Joker’s Child In Fair Lawn, New Jersey! Thousands of Books will be given away, introducing as many people as possible to the wonders of comic books and The Joker's Child.

“The wide array of comic books being published today ensures that readers of all ages — children, teens, and adults – can find something appropriate that will stir their imaginations,” said Len Katz, President of The Joker's Child.

"We at The Joker's Child want to spread the word that comics are perfect for today’s times," Katz continued. "Comic books and graphic novels are considered hip, hot and smart.” Comic Books have propelled to the front ranks of pop culture, many being adapted into movies. The first weekend of May is going to be a big day in the comic book world.”

“Now in its tenth year, Free Comic Book Day has become a tradition, spreading the word that reading with word balloons can be fun." said Co-owner Len Katz. “People are at the door at 11:00AM to get in on the fun and get FREE COMICS! Just come to The Joker's Child and see what’s available.”

"We are thrilled to celebrate our Tenth Annual Free Comic Book Day," said Len Katz. "Over the years, Free Comic Book Day has been our way to show appreciation to our loyal customers, welcome new customers, and encourage reading.”

“Unlike the large chain stores that dominate most types of retailing, The Joker’s Child is independently owned and operated. As a result, we feel our store is unique, the only one of it’s kind. We at The Joker’s Child want to spread the word that comics are alive and well in 2011," Katz continued. "More than that - they are thriving!

Green Lantern ,Thor and Captain America hit the big screen this summer, and free comics about all three characters will be given away. We invite everyone to come in on May 7th and see for themselves how vital, relevant, powerful, and just-plain cool comic books are. Better yet, you get to do it for free!"
