Fair Lawn Friends of Music Car Wash Fundraiser

The Fair Lawn Friends of Music, a non-profit organization whose purpose is to recognize, promote, and enhance the performance of music at Fair Lawn High School, will host a fundraising car wash on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The music students will be washing cars in front of Fair Lawn High School, located at 14-00 Berdan Ave.

Car wash tickets are $5 per vehicle and can be purchased at the event. Proceeds will benefit the more than 150 instrumental music students of Fair Lawn High School, including the Marching Band, Color Guard, Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble and the Indoor Percussion and Color Guard programs, as well as funding for new instruments, equipment, uniforms and scholarships for graduating seniors.

Since 2006, Fair Lawn is the only Bergen County high school to compete at the United States Scholastic Band Association (USSBA) National Championships. The Cutters finished eighth overall and were named National Champions in percussion during the 2010 season. They also claimed their third consecutive Bergen County Invitational title, sweeping all captions in Group IV Open Class competition.
