Fair Lawn High School Competes in Garden State Gold Marching Band Competition

Celebrating its 36th anniversary, the Morris Knolls High School Golden Eagles Marching Band will host the Garden State Gold Marching Band Competition on Saturday, October 22, 2011. This Competition will take place at Morris Knolls High School’s Caruso Field located at 50 Knoll Drive in Rockaway, NJ.  In the event of inclement weather the competition will be held at Morris Knolls High School Gymnasium.

Eighteen area High School Marching Bands will be competing in this Gold Star United States Scholastic Band Association (USSBA) sanctioned tournament including, Bayonne, Pompton Lakes, Rutherford, Parsippany Hills, Oceanside, Pequannock Township, North Warren, Woodbridge, Hanover Park, Linden, Montville, Morris Hills, Parsippany, Ridgewood, Northern Highlands, Union, Fair Lawn, and West Orange.

This event will also include a special recognition of all Morris Knolls Marching Band Alumni.  As such we encourage any and all Alumni and their parents to attend this special Competition so they can be recognized and honored for their roles in making the Morris Knolls Marching Band a Championship caliber band!

The first band will perform at 3:10 PM and the last band will perform at 8:30 PM followed by the Alumni recognition and awards ceremony.  Awards for the participating High School Bands will include placement in each group along with special awards for best visual, music, overall effect, Color Guard and Percussion. Admission is $10.00 and includes a Competition Program.  Seniors and Students Admission is $5 but does not include a Competition Program.
