Fair Lawn Business Damaged In Fire
A Saturday evening fire caused no injuries, but damaged a car maintenance facility on Fair Lawn Avenue, fire officials said.
FAIR LAWN, NJ — A two alarm fire damaged a Fair Lawn business over the weekend, but caused no injuries, fire officials said.
The Fair Lawn Fire Department was dispatched to a report of smoke coming from a business on the three block of Fair Lawn Avenue at 6:13 p.m. Officials found smoke and fire was inside a garage area at the scene.
"The fire was located in the garage area of a car maintenance facility," said Fair Lawn Fire Chief Thomas Carney, in a statement.

"The firefighters quickly stretched hose into the building and got the fire knocked down. The members did a great job preventing further damage to the building."
The fire was declared under control by 6:40 p.m., officials said.

Overhaul operations continued and all remaining companies were cleared from the scene shortly after 8 p.m.
Approximately 40 firefighters and first responders were on the scene, including members of the Fair Lawn Fire Department, Fair Lawn Police, Fair Lawn Rescue Squad, and the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Standby mutual aid was provided by the Saddle Brook Fire Department, Elmwood Park Fire Department, Glen Rock Fire Department, and the Paramus Fire Department.
The Fair Lawn Fire Prevention Bureau is the lead agency for the fire investigation.
