Fair Lawn Man Has Cellphone Stolen In Glen Rock: Police

The cellphone was left in an unlocked car in a Glen Rock parking lot, police said.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — A Fair Lawn man reported his cellphone stolen after he left it in his unlocked car last week, Glen Rock police said.

Reported just after 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 23, police said the man was parked at the strip mall located at Maple Avenue and Harristown Road in Glen Rock.

Other police agencies have sent warnings about leaving cars unlocked after multiple thefts this summer.

In Wayne, cars in the township and other neighboring communities were stolen this summer. The department said these instances could have likely been avoided had the keys and other valuables not been left inside.

This report was published in this week's Glen Rock Police Blotter. Also in the blotter was a reported hit-and-run from the borough.

According to the department, shortly after 1 p.m. a Paramus woman reported she was involved in an accident in the parking lot of the strip mall along Prospect Street near the farmer's market.

Upon fleeing the scene, a woman driving a black Honda CRV was last seen entering Fair Lawn on Prospect Street, according to police.

As of Monday, police are seeking additional information and help identifying the vehicle.
