Fair Lawn Piano Students To Perform At National Concert

FAIR LAWN, NJ — Three borough piano students will perform at a prestigious concert in California Sunday.

Jonathan Hartanto, Aadhitya Ashok and Devin Lu, have been selected to play at the Yamaha 2017 National Junior Original Concert. The three boys are students at the Bergen Yamaha Music School in Fair Lawn and composed original pieces of music for the concert. Only 14 students nationwide have been chosen to perform.

Hartanto will perform "In The Shadows," a piece he composed for the piano, trumpet, bass and drums. He started composing music when he was 7.

Ashok began composing music when he was 5. He is a graduate of the London College of Music. He has already performed at venues across Philadelphia, New York and New Jersey. He will perform "Sparks And Icicles."

Lu has been playing piano since he was 7 and began composing music when he was 10. He will perform "Sonata In C Major."

The three students study the Yamaha Music Education System, which is produced by the Yamaha Music Foundation in Japan.
