Fair Lawn Police Use Narcan To Save 2 People Over New Year's Weekend
Police administered the drug to a 36-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, respectively.

FAIR LAWN, N.J. — Police helped save the life of two people, one of whom had used heroin, over the new year weekend using Narcan, police said.
Five police officers responded to the McDonald's parking lot on Broadway and administered two vials of Narcan to an unresponsive woman at 1:13 a.m. Monday, said Sgt. Brian Metzler.
The Narcan made the 36-year-old woman "alert and responsive," police said; she told police that she used heroin before becoming unresponsive. She was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson.

The man had overdosed on a prescribed medication and was administered one vial of Narcan, which helped him wake up, police said. He was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson.
