Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps Receive Pet Oxygen Masks

Fair Lawn is one of the three Bergen County communities to receive the life-saving tool for pets recently

The Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps, the River Edge Fire Department and Closter Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue have all added oxygen masks for pets to their toolkit of life-saving equipment thanks to gifts from at-home pet services provider Canine Company (www.caninecompany.com).

The three Bergen County first responder organizations contacted Canine Company to request mask donations after learning that the company recently donated masks to the New Milford and Northvale Ambulance Corps.

Canine Company is on a mission to ensure that first responders in all the communities its serves have the life-saving equipment needed to resuscitate family pets. In the past year alone, Canine Company has donated over 200 kits to fire departments and first aid squads in 70 communities across New Jersey, New York and New England.

“Canine Company was founded 35 years ago by a family of pet lovers who wanted to help others keep their pets happy, safe and healthy,” said Renee Coughlin of Canine Company. “We do that with the services we offer and with our charitable campaigns.”

Because first responders need to know there are pets in the home in order to rescue them, Canine Company is offering free “pets inside” decals that families can place on a front door or window. Decals are available through the Request a Decal form on the company’s website.
