Youth Softball Squad Finishes Second in Memorial Weekend Tournament [Reader Photo]
The team lost in the championship to Ridgewood in the Mahwah Memorial Day Weekend Tournament.
The Fair Lawn 12u Girls Softball team recently took second place in the Mahwah Memorial Weekend Tournament.
In three days of tournament competition, the Cutters made it to the Championship game, but came up just one run short of victory against a stong Ridgewood team.
On their way to the championship, Fair Lawn beat Livingston, Montgomery N.Y., the NJ Sparks and Lincoln Park twice.

The second meeting between Lincoln Park and Fair Lawn was one of the more exciting games of the weekend. Trailing by one going into the bottom of the sevent inning, Kristen Walsh hit a game-tying triple and Nancy Ruf followed with a single that scored the winning run and sent Fair Lawn to a semi-final game with the NJ Sparks, a club team that Fair Lawn beat 6-1 in a rain-shortened game.
