High School to Host Tri-State Indoor Band Competition

The Second Annual USBands Indoor Invitational Percussion and Color Guard competition will be held Saturday, March 17.

Residents will have the chance to enjoy performances by some of the tri-state area's best high school ensembles right in their own backyard on Saturday, March 17 when  hosts the Second Annual USBands Indoor Invitational Percussion and Color Guard competition.

Saturday's competition, which will feature 12 groups from New Jersey and New York, will be held in the high school’s B Gym from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to enjoying Fair Lawn's , Saturday's attendees will also get to see the premiere performance of the newly-formed junior varsity percussion ensemble, made up of Fair Lawn High School and middle school students.

The competition, which is being organized and hosted by the Fair Lawn Friends of Music (FLFOM), has the potential to be the group's largest-ever fundraising effort.

Proceeds help fund scholarships, cover instrument repairs and help purchase instruments and equipment for all the Instrumental Music programs at the high school.

“It is very prestigious for us to be able to host this event, which provides a great way for people to come out and support the town’s music program,” FLFOM president Patti Reiner said in a statement.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and senior citizens. Please enter the building from the parking lot in the rear of the school.
