High Schooler's Pencil Drawings Displayed at Library
Drawings by Fair Lawn High School sophomore Riley Wagstaff will be featured in the level B display case through April.

Peer over to your left the next time you pass through the 's front doors and you'll see a series of pencil drawings by high school sophomore Riley Wagstaff.
Wagstaff, 16, will have her drawings displayed in the level B display case through the month of April.
Wagstaff, who moved to town from Texas last year, said she's always loved drawing, and as a child would carry a pad of paper and a pencil around with her just in case she felt moved to scribble her next masterpiece.

This year she's enrolled in the Fine Art 3 Honors class at and is looking forward to taking AP Art next year as a junior.
After high school, Wagstaff said she'd like to attend Brigham Young University and pursue a career in art -- either as a teacher, animator or character designer for Disney.

She typically works with a variety of value pencils and blending tools and said she enjoys the gradient look of her drawings because it creates a sense of peace and calmness, without the brightness of modern colors.
